Every day we read about how stressful our society is.
We hear from our friends and loved one’s about how stressed they feel,
and recognize those feelings in ourselves.
Many of us have also read numerous articles on ways to reduce the stress in our lives,
including taking up a hobby that we can immerse ourselves in and get into a meditative zone.
We think we may have found an answer, thanks to our good friend and artist, Loren Kantor.
He will be leading an 8-Week Block Carving and Printmaking Class at Beverly Hills Parks and Recreation.
See pictures from past classes throughout this blog post.
Registrations began on Monday, August 25!
The classes begin Tuesday, September 9, 2014 (less than a week away) and will be held every Tuesday night from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Roxbury Park in Beverly Hills until October 28, 2014.
The cost for the 8-week class is $115 + a $25 materials fee.
(If you live in Beverly Hills, the cost is $92 + the materials fee.)
All materials will be supplied in class. We will be using high-density Rubber Blocks. Participants will learn to carve their own blocks and make custom prints.

Students can work from instructor designs or make their own designs.
The focus of the class will be on traditional carving techniques as used with woodcuts and linoleum cuts. Each class will focus on a different theme such as flora & fauna, landscapes, posters and portraits.
Registrations began on Monday, August 25, so you’d best hurry to sign up!
